Read this blog post if you don’t want to see 500 dwellings on Shendish’s Green Belt and want to know how to respond to DBC’s Local Plan consultation, and make your representation count
We are supporting two resident’s groups, who live close to the Shendish site, by publishing here, information they have provided, to help residents make objections that will count.
Save our Greenbelt Shendish - Rucklers Lane
On Tuesday 26 November, Save our Greenbelt Shendish held the first of three meetings at Rucklers Hall, Rucklers Lane, to help people find out more about how and why the site has come back into the Dacorum Local Plan and provide guidance on how to complete the Dacorum representation form, objecting to the 500 dwellings proposed on Shendish. Cllr Alan Anderson kindly provided background and explained the specific nature of the consultation process, for this stage of the Local Plan. NB: This is the last chance where residents have an opportunity to have their say.
If you didn’t make it to the above meeting, further meetings will be held on:
Tuesday 10 December 2024, from 7:30pm onwards
Wednesday 11 December 2024, from 7:30pm onwards
If you are unable to attend one of the meetings, please see the links below which include instructions and some valid representation examples for you to adapt into your own words and submit online.
Save our Shendish Greenbelt - Manor Estate and Aspen Park
The Manor Estate and Aspen Park Residents Association is also holding a meeting at Two Waters Primary School to provide more information on the strong arguments that exist for objecting to the 500 dwellings proposed on Shendish Greenbelt, which will be accessed through King Edward Street and Shearwater Road.
The meeting will be held on Monday 2 December from 7:30pm onwards.
There will be a presentation by the KL&DRA entitled:
Review of New Government Housing Policies & the Impact on Kings Langley

Support in completing the representation forms will be provided at the meeting, along with an explanation of how and why Dacorum has included Shendish at this point in the Local Plan process. NB: The volume and quality of objections is crucial.
For all meetings above, where possible, please register beforehand at https://letstalk.dacorum.gov.uk and download the representation form as there is no WiFi at the hall. Bring your laptop, and support will be provided to ensure your responses are based on valid objections.
Paper copies of the representation form will be also be available at the meetings.
