Planning application submitted for 150 homes on Green Belt Land North of Chipperfield Road - Time for Action!
The developers, Hill Residential Limited and Silversaw Limited have applied for outline planning permission for the demolition f 36 Chipperfield Road, construction of 150 dwellings plus a new education facility (NB: not providing more school places), a community building and associated landscaping.
Although this is an outline planning application, the developers have been very clear as to what they intend to build on the green field, Green Belt site. This is a large development that our village does not need. The site is not in Dacorum Borough Council’s Local Plan, is unnecessary and will put significant strain on local resources and in particular, will add considerable traffic congestion.
Whilst the proposal does provide some benefits for Kings Langley School and the Sunnyside Trust, there is no guarantee of additional school places, health facilities or road improvements that would effectively mitigate the impact of additional residents and associated additional vehicles.
The KL&DRA object to this development and encourage villagers to send in their own objections. It is imperative that as many individuals as possible submit comments on the applications, as that is what will make an impact on Dacorum’s Planning Committee.
Kings Langley Parish Council objected to the application at a KLPC planning meeting held on Tuesday 4 February 2025. This means that the application will now be decided by the Planning Committee at Dacorum, so in order to make them take notice of the feeling in our village, individuals need to respond via the Council’s planning portal.
